Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21 the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio is an American actor. Maggie Grace is most well-known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills and Kim Mills in ABC's Lost television show. The couple had separated and they moved together with their mother in Los Angeles. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first role as Rachel's Room's main character the online video show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In the following year, she was awarded a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 for her performance as fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder in Greenwich. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She played the lead protagonist for two seasons and also won the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was keen to pursue film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She has appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised her role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern adaptation from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role as Shannon in Lost for two additional episodes. This included the series final. The year 2013 saw Grace appear in Californianation, the 6th Season. She portrays Faith as the muse and fan of the celebrities. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. Being part of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the younger sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films of her father as an adolescent. Together with her brother she also appeared in Donnie Darko (2000). The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the romance comedy Secretary (2002). Both movies were critically acclaimed. In the wake of several successful commercial films like World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). She was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom as she appeared in Crazy Heart. She subsequently starred in the comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Some of her other characters include as a secret agent for Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well as a vocalist in Frank 2014, and the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the title role. Gyllenhaal's debut as a filmmaker and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama for which she received the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also won the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
